A message from Our President about On Call Central’s business plan during the Coronavirus pandemic
On Call Central is open amidst the current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and ready to help our medical practices in these changing and challenging times.
We recognize that having streamlined phone access to medical personnel will be important for many patients during this time of added stress and uncertainty, and that having a reliable partner capable of handling a significant increase in call volume will be essential.
We are in a strong position to continue operating, and do not expect the coronavirus to have any material impact on On Call Central’s products or services. Our software is extremely scalable, and the fact that our products have been designed to replace a crowded call center with the efficiency of automation reduces the chances that members of our team will be impacted.
Our team has transitioned to working remotely as a precautionary measure for the time being, where every team member has access to the On Call Central corporate network and resources. Our engineering team is extremely talented, and they are working remotely from various locations. Additionally, we do not expect our AWS hosted infrastructure to be materially impacted by the current situation.
With regard to features, we anticipate launching an additional module early next week specifically designed to aid in the distribution of information that your patients likely are seeking. This new module will allow you to send, via SMS, any information (including attachments) you wish to distribute to callers who have questions about COVID-19, or any other topic. This module will help handle common requests without requiring additional labor inputs from your practice.
With regard to support, we currently are operating as usual. You can open support tickets on our web portal, by emailing support@oncallcentral.com, or by calling us at 855-5-ON-CALL. You can start new service here.
Lastly, I want to personally thank each of you for being on the frontline of healthcare. As the husband of a hospitalist physician, I understand in a personal way the sacrifices you are making, and it sincerely is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Sidney H. VanNess, Ph.D.
