Today we released a feature that has been in the works for several months: fully automated round robin call distribution. This is deployed via a new On Call Balancing module. Rather than linking to a single call schedule, the On Call Balancing module links to multiple call schedules and automatically distributes the call load amongst as many on-call personnel as you require. This feature is ideal for practices with very high call volume, or for practices with predictable spikes in call demand that cannot reasonably be handled by a single on-call provider. Even better, this feature can be configured automatically to scale the number of providers up or down as a function of time. For example, if you need three individuals on call between 5PM and 9PM, but only one provider on call outside of those hours, this easily can be implemented using the On Call Balancing module.
